How to adopt:

The first step in adopting your new best friend is to fill out an application. You can do this by clicking on the link to your left that says "Forms/Applications."

Once you've submitted your application, give our volunteers a few days to contact you. Your references will be checked, a one-on-one phone conference between you and a GCDR representative will take place, and then we will set up your homevisit. Usually we can get approval in about a week. To expedite the process, you can send photos and/or video of your home, including your fenced yard and the places your new pet will be in the most. Sometimes it's difficult to get a homevisit conducted, so this may or may not take the place of a homevisit. You can email your photos/video to GulfCoastDachshundRescue@yahoo.com. Be sure to put your name and the name of the dachshund you are interested in in the subject of the email.

Adoption Fees include dentals, heart-worm test and treatment, age-appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter, and all other medical issues. 

18 months and under: 240.00

In the event a puppy is too young to be altered before he or she goes home, a FULLY refundable 100.00 deposit will be required. Once you show proof of their spay/neuter at 4-6 months, you will be refunded the 100.00 deposit.

Their adoption fee covers vetting for not only them, but for the less adoptable dogs we have in the system. Without young adoptable dogs' adoption fees, we would be unable to help those who have heart-worms, back problems, or other health issues.

19 months - 7 years: 225.00

Seniors: 200.00
