Dutchess is a senior, red, smooth female. She loves to be as close as possible to her person and likes nothing better than to be up on the couch next to you. Dutchess was an owner surrender to Animal Control. She was very thin, covered in fleas, was bald in spots, and had a bad yeast infection. I feel she may have been a pampered and loved pet by an older person who either became too ill to care for her or died. At that point, she was probably thrown outside in the yard and neglected. She is now doing much better with medicated baths and flea control. She has been recently spayed and is heartworm negative. She gets along well with the other dogs but can be very enthusiastic about her food and will make sure no other dogs gets what is hers. She loves to eat almost as much as she loves to cuddle. She enjoys toys and looks forward to her walks. She is good in the house but will need to be supervised closely and reminded to do her business outside. Dutchess would be a wonderful pet for someone who would spend lots of time pampering her and treating her like royalty, as her name implies. I know she would return the favor and give you all the love she has in her little heart.
